About Seeleys House

A valued service

The Memorial Garden at Seeleys House

Seeleys House has both day service and respite overnight care for adults with severe learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities in the South Bucks area.

The day centre, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in October 2009, welcomes around 30 people each day.  It helps with social skills, physiotherapy, speech therapy and daily living skills and provides service users with varied and stimulating activities designed to help each develop their skills and talents to the full.

The respite care service provides short-term live-in care. It caters for many adults, some of whom attend Seeleys day service. It provides a temporary ‘home-from-home’ in a pleasant and caring environment. There are 12 bedrooms and two lounges.

How is it funded?

Seeleys House is managed by Bucks County Council, Social Services Department. The South Bucks Association for the Disabled (SBAD), which provided substantial funds to adapt the buildings many years ago, maintains an active interest in Seeleys House.

However, Seeleys House relies heavily upon contributions from the public in order to be able to finance improvements, new facilities and equipment, outings and those little extras which make life just that bit better for service users.

Friends of Seeleys House (FOSH) is a registered charity that works hard to raise those much-needed funds. Its members include parents and guardians of clients, staff at Seeleys, and also members of the general public. Visit the FOSH website for more information.
